Coastal Medical and Wellness Center in Stuart is a multi-discipline healthcare facility specializing in bridging the gap between pain and wellness. Are you suffering from Chronic Back Pain, Sciatica, Disc Bulge, Disc Herniation, Facet Syndrome, Failed Back Surgery, or Degenerative Disc Disease? Spinal Decompression is a technology that relaxes the muscles and creates a negative pressure inside the disc. The team of physicians at Coastal Medical and Wellness Center in Stuart sets the highest standard for non-surgical spinal decompression as the therapy of choice for those suffering with severe back pain resulting from spinal disc injury. Our patients suffer with sciatica and stenosis, complicated by degenerative and bulging or prolapsed, herniated discs in their neck and backs.
At our clinic improving your health is always our primary concern. We approach each patient as an individual and realize that, although many patients experience similar complaints, the origin for these symptoms often varies significantly from person to person. Evaluation and treatment are focused on identifying and correcting the causative factors responsible for your compromised health, as well as providing symptomatic relief. The emphasis of our care focuses on the treatment of neuro-musculo-skeletal complaints by restoring the body’s structural integrity and proper biomechanical function. Each day our physicians treat a variety of common health complaints, including: Chronic back pain, sciatica, disc bulge, disc herniation facet syndrome, failed back surgery, degenerative disc disease, shoulder pain, neck pain, pain and numbness in the arms/legs, muscle spasms, sprain/strains, whiplash, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, knee pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome as well as others. These injuries may be the result of a recent injury such as falling, sports injuries, or a motor vehicle accident.
However, often the onset is subtler and condition causing the symptoms may have been present for weeks, months, or in many cases years. At Coastal Medical and Wellness Center in Stuart, FL thoroughness is our top priority. We believe in evaluating you as a whole person and do not limit our examination to the area of pain and dysfunction. Often the symptoms you experience in one region of your body are the result of your body compensating for improper function in another region. This approach allows for greater insight and more complete understanding as to the full nature of your condition. Because many of our patients are seeking physical medical care for the first time, we try to be as informative as possible to decrease any anxiety. The following is what can be expected on your first visit. Our evaluation process begins by obtaining a detailed history and your current health complaint. We then perform a comprehensive physical, orthopedic, and neurological exam structured toward the findings in the history. Diagnostic testing such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and electro diagnostic (computerized neurological testing) may be necessary, depending on physical examination findings. All necessary tests will be explained in advance so you will know what tests are being performed and for what purpose. Should the results indicate the need for outside diagnostic testing, we have established referral networks with most area hospitals and diagnostic centers.
Our physicians and staff believe that educating our patients is just as important as improving their health. Helping you understand your health conditions, how it progressed to its current state, and how appropriate treatment will help correct it, is an integral portion of our overall health care approach. To do this, we may use video, anatomical models, computer imaging, and instructional classes designed to help you “see” your current health condition. Research strongly supports this approach and has shown that patients who understand the full nature of their condition heal more quickly, with fewer relapses, than those who do not. Our main objective is to restore your health, but our ultimate goal is to keep you healthy and injury free. We embrace the proactive philosophy of a preventative lifestyle, stressing the importance of supervised exercise, nutritional counseling, weight management, as well as periodic wellness care throughout the year to maintain your health. Regardless of your health care philosophy, if your goal is to address a particular approach, our physicians will always be here to address your health care needs.
